IgE  is a  glycoprotein consisting of 14% carbohydrate; its molecularweight is 188000 D. It is made of two heavy chains with five domains and two light chains.
The IgE concentration correlates with a few atopic diseases, parasites, and immunodeficiency. The concentration of IGE in stool can give an important indication about the immune barrier and indicates, for example, an allergic reaction or a parasite infestation.
